Bronchoscopy
Bronchoscopy is an advanced diagnostic procedure used to directly examine the airways and lungs for accurate evaluation of respiratory conditions. It helps identify the cause of persistent lung symptoms, detect abnormalities, and support precise diagnosis when routine imaging shows suspicious findings.
This procedure is commonly recommended for patients with persistent cough, recurrent lung infections, unexplained breathing difficulty, blood in sputum, or abnormal findings on chest X-ray or CT scan.
At Dr. Rounak Singhai Chest Clinic, bronchoscopy is used for detailed airway assessment and may assist in identifying infections, airway narrowing, lung lesions, or other internal abnormalities. During the procedure, a thin flexible tube called a bronchoscope is passed through the nose or mouth into the airways under medical supervision.
Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) is a non-invasive diagnostic test used to assess how well the lungs are functioning. It measures lung capacity, airflow, and the efficiency of oxygen transfer, helping in the diagnosis and monitoring of various respiratory conditions.
This test is commonly recommended for patients experiencing shortness of breath, chronic cough, wheezing, chest tightness, or suspected lung diseases such as asthma and COPD.
At Dr. Rounak Singhai Chest Clinic, PFT is performed using advanced spirometry to evaluate breathing patterns and detect early lung function abnormalities. During the test, patients breathe into a specialized device called a spirometer, which records the strength and speed of breathing.
Adult Vaccination (Flu / Pneumococcal / Other)
Adult vaccination is an important part of preventive healthcare that helps protect against serious respiratory infections and other vaccine-preventable diseases. Vaccines strengthen the immune system and reduce the risk of severe illness, especially in adults with chronic lung conditions, older age, or weakened immunity.
Common recommended vaccines include the influenza (flu) vaccine, which helps protect against seasonal viral infections, and the pneumococcal vaccine, which reduces the risk of pneumonia and related complications. Additional vaccines may be advised depending on age, medical history, lifestyle, and individual risk factors.
At Dr. Rounak Singhai Chest Clinic, adult vaccination guidance is provided for patients with asthma, COPD, chronic lung disease, recurrent chest infections, and other respiratory conditions to help prevent avoidable complications.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a structured treatment program designed to improve breathing capacity, physical endurance, and overall quality of life in patients with chronic respiratory diseases. It combines supervised exercise, breathing techniques, education, and long-term respiratory support.
This program is especially beneficial for patients living with COPD, lung fibrosis, asthma, post-infection lung weakness, and other chronic lung conditions that affect daily activities and breathing comfort.
At Dr. Rounak Singhai Chest Clinic, pulmonary rehabilitation is planned according to the patient’s lung condition, exercise tolerance, and breathing limitations to support gradual improvement in respiratory function and stamina.
Sleep Study
Sleep Study (Polysomnography) is a specialized diagnostic test used to evaluate sleep patterns and identify sleep-related breathing disorders or other sleep disturbances that may affect overall health and daily functioning.
This test is commonly recommended for patients experiencing loud snoring, daytime sleepiness, disturbed sleep, choking during sleep, morning headaches, or suspected sleep apnea.
At Dr. Rounak Singhai Chest Clinic, sleep study assessment helps analyze breathing patterns, oxygen levels, heart rate, and sleep quality to detect conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and other sleep-related disorders.
Thoracoscopy
Thoracoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedure used to examine the space around the lungs (pleural cavity). It allows direct visualization of the chest cavity to identify the cause of unexplained lung or pleural conditions.
This procedure is commonly recommended for patients with unexplained pleural effusion (fluid around lungs), persistent chest infections, suspected tuberculosis, or abnormal findings on chest imaging.
At Dr. Rounak Singhai Chest Clinic, thoracoscopy is used for accurate diagnosis and management of pleural diseases. A thin instrument with a camera (thoracoscope) is inserted through a small incision in the chest under medical supervision, allowing detailed examination and targeted intervention.
